Problems and Solutions
There are lots of problems in Tokyo due to it’s massive population of over 13 million people and what come with that it a lot negative impact to the beautiful city of Tokyo. The main problem is the population density. There is about 83% of japan is mountainous and because of this it has caused a major pressure on the rest of Japan because of it 127 million inhabitants jammed into only 17% of it island. As a result of that this leaves not much options for housing available in Tokyo in fact it is currently so crowded that there are some part of the city that have more than 20 000 people per square kilometer. In Tokyo no one lives in slums but the housing is crowded that a lot of people a forced to live in multi-store public housing with other hundreds to thousands people. This is because fact that Tokyo has one of the highest average population densities in the world, Which continues to grow day by day and put pressure on the already struggling public housing. Another big problem in Tokyo is the water supply which is already struggle to keep up to the demand if the population continues to grow at the same rate. At present the water supply in Tokyo is stable if the population is rising so fast the water supply to Tokyo is going to soon become a major problem. After there was two devastating oil spills is has sadly put a lot of pressure on Tokyo's water supplies to even add more presser there has been a large amount of cleaning completed to clean the water because there water still may harm people who drink.
The solution for Tokyo’s problem of population density and water supply isn’t easy but could be achieved. Japanese government is currently looking to decentralise Tokyo. This could be achieved by moving the government owned companies to lees populated part of Japan, creating more jobs and populated. Many people have no choices but to live in jam packed cities or live in poor cities filled with pollution problems, but people just live there for their jobs therefor if the percentage of jobs were taken to other parts of Japan is would make people leave to follow their jobs to its new location. This would reduce the population density, water supply, pollution problems and people would have a better quality of life.
